The preparation for the 2024 “Aristotle-Buddha-Confucius-Daoism (ABCD) Symposium on Ancient Wisdom for Modern Challenges” has already started.
On September 28, 2023, in the context of the Ninth Nishan Forum on World Civilizations and the 2023 Nishan Forum on Classical Civilizations, in the birthplace of Confucius, Qufu, Shandong Province-China, the 1st meeting for the “Aristotle-Buddha-Confucius-Daoism Symposium on Ancient Wisdom for Modern Challenges,” took place. In this meeting the following members participated: The Vice President and Secretary General of the China Confucius Foundation, Guo Chengyan, the President of the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, Jeffrey Sacs, the President of the Interdisciplinary Centre for Aristotle Studies, AUTh, Demetra Sfendoni-Mentzou, the President of the Center for Ancient Greek and Chinese of Culture, Stelios Virvidakis, the President of the Nishan World Center for Confucius Studies, and the Directors of the Departments of the Shandong Provincial Government.
It has been decided that the Symposium will take place in the birthplace of Confucius, Qufu, Shandong Province of China, thanks to the hospitality of the Nishan Forum on World Civilizations and the leadership of the China Confucius Foundation, the Nishan World Center for Confucius Studies, and the Shandong Provincial Government. The dates of the Symposium are July 8-12, 2024. The possibility is also explored of holding one or two days of meetings in Beijing.
