On Thursday May 16, 2019, a Press Conference was held at the Senate Hall o A.U.Th. for the presentation of the business plan for the foundation of the “International Cultural Center of Ancient Stageira: Aristotle.” The aim of this Centre is to study and promote on an international level the work of the Macedonian philosopher Aristotle, as well as to promote the Municipality’s characteristic advantages, which are connected with the local history, archaeology, natural environment and touristic attractions.
This ambitious project is the core of the Cooperation Agreement, that has been signed in June 2018 between the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (A.U.Th.) and the Municipality of Aristotle.
Of crucial significance for the foundation, functioning and developmental strategic of this Centre will be the contribution of the“Interdisciplinary Center for Aristotle Studies,” (DIKAM) of A.U.Th., which has laid the foundations of this Agreement of collaboration between the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Municipality of Aristotle and is at the core of the whole project for its future development.
We are extremely happy and optimistic for the development of this ambitious project. The strong foundations that have already been laid, both by the activity of the “Interdisciplinary Center for Aristotle Studies” A.U.Th. and by the Municipality of Aristotle, as well as by the cooperation of the two Institutions thus far, can guarantee for its success. Our common aim is to promote on a global scale the work of the Stageirite philosopher Aristotle, the philosopher who has shaped the thinking of the European and, in general, the Western civilization, and continues to be present as part of the world’s cultural heritage.
